Extremely happy to see JOGL is still alive...

jiapei100

Hi, all:

First of all, just passed by and immediately registered this forum. Extremely happy to see JOGL is still alive.

One question: Will JOGL be replaced by JOCL ?

Cheers
Pei

  Hi Pei,

welcome, I like your enthusiasm :)

no OpenCL and OpenGL are really two different things. It is unlikely
that CL would replace GL in mid term even when you could simulate most
of the GL api on top of CL today. GL is convenient for graphics... if
the problem does not fit in this area but is still highly
paralleliseable you would probably take CL or CUDA. Its graphics vs
computing which are today two different things but this may change in
future.

best regards,
michael
