Help: JogAmp Windows Test Box freezes quite regularly lately

Win7 Box:
  - AMD64, 8GB Ram, Nvidia GTX 460, PSU Toughpower XT 675 W
  - Attached to a KVM switch (USB/DVI)
  - Regularly updated

Tested w/ Linux (sysrescue 3.1.1):
  memtest+ OK (40 min)
  burncpu OK (10 min)
  smartctlr -a /dev/sda: OK

Windows NV driver:
  - Moved from latest 310.* driver back to 296.*
  - Uninstalled the HD Audio driver (part of the NV driver suit)
  - Only installed the graphics driver part

Freeze happens:
  - mostly when IDLE, even though it also froze while one virus scanner was busy
  - no BSOD (blue screen of death) or windows/minidump

Since the box ran well on Linux and Memtest for around 1 hour
w/ stress testing and the Windows crash happens earlier,
I assume the hardware is OK

What do to ?
  - After next freeze: Run in safe mode for a while to check whether drivers are corrupt ?

Are there any diagnostic tools ?
  - Windows Kernel logs ?
  - Last kernel log ?
  - .. ?

Any help / ideas appreciated.

- I installed CPUID's tools (cpu-z and hw-mon) on the offending box and let it run.

- It froze again, since I watched more closely:
  - 1st window content was no more updated - looks frozen, but still able to move mouse (frozen part1)
  - 2nd after moving mouse making ~2 circles, mouse input was ignored (frozen part2)
  - 3rd I checked network reachability: NONE, Keyboard lights for Caps-Lock/Num-Lock: NONE
  - frozen complete

Any hints ?

Windows 7 contains a hidden tool to track system issues:

Start>Control Panel>System and Security>Action Center>Maintenance>View reliability history

Check if windows have installed any recent update before the freezes started to appear.

yeah .. just rebooted not regularly :)

oh well, we ordered a new box, just went through the world of pain
of PC hw specs (isn't it much easier to select SOC's ?).

will swap boxes: new -> workstation -> win-test -> playground :)

too much time lost w/ this crap already.

then I can see on playground .. whats wrong,
why hopefully haven't replaced machine until weekend,
assuming they deliver on Friday or Saturday.

FYI .. 'solved'.

After a few more tests on that win7 box w/ Linux
no hardware failure has been found.

Hence I reformatted the harddisk and installed win7 from scratch
and the machine works again.

For sure, this is a very sad & annoying issue
and I don't know what caused this (a Windows or driver update).
For sure, I didn't do anything else experimental w/ that machine
which exist solely for jogamp testing.
