Release 2.4 - macOS version support ?

Hi support,

I have been using the latest 2.4 (2023-02-01) release in my software package which is being used on windows, linux and macOS intel and Apple Silicon.

It all works great for our use, but it seems that it now only works for macOS 11.0 or later, is this correct? It would really help if you could compile the macOS intel libs still for macOS Sierra 10.12.6 or later. Would that be possible?

It seems to be doable to support at least Mac OS X 10.9 but it's challenging. Apple operating systems are really painful to support.
