I have been working on a realistic Norden bombsight simulator as a volunteer for a WWII living history museum (www.stocktonfieldmuseum.org/). We have been using it as part of our living history/fund raiser Bomber Camp (www.bombercamp.org/). The code is based on NASA's WorldWind, which uses JOGL. Have had the simulator running for a few years.
Now I am trying to add explosion and smoke plume effects to the bomb hits on the ground. Anyone out there with some code snippets -- shader based or otherwise? Anyone want to help out? The code is open source.
