Are you running the app on an external monitor, or on the laptop's built-in monitor? I've sometimes seen that JOGL (back in the 1.1.1a days at least) would see the Microsoft OpenGL driver when the app was run on an external monitor of a laptop.

Also, what OS type and version are you running?
