Just read about Firefox OS .. looks like they love to follow Google's Chrome
'political' direction alot. Personally I don't really like all those attempts
to remove freedom - even on those pure consumer platforms.
What I have read is they just support javascript, no native code etc.
Must be some very low maintenance goal for those tablets/PC,
reviving the thin client architecture .. this time w/ more powerful CPU/GPU.

Well, if they want to disable one _proven_ platform independent application
layer to be more 'slim' .. surely their choice.
But considering Java less bloated than one of today's browsers w/ all the
build-in plugins .. that's almost fun to hear.
Maybe it's also political/legal driver .. since it's not yet clear whether
it's legal to install 'a' 'Java' runtime on those 'non desktop' platforms.
Even though Oracle just failed to make their case about (c) an API
the word is not yet our whether 'we' can install OpenJDK (or similar) on
mobile devices.
Until now .. it seems that only Android's Dalvik VM got their pass,
so maybe the discussion should be more about _which_ Java like platform
can we install on today's mobile machines.
