I noticed that there are different types of gears applet sample at the official site,
http://jogamp.org/deployment/jogamp-current/jogl-demos/applet-gears-napplet.html
and
http://jogamp.org/deployment/jogamp-current/jogl-applet-runner-newt-gears-normal.html

The former applet works on my Mac, but the latter one causes the plug-in error.
