The actual error output in the topic above is not the same as described in the bug fix you linked to, which means I was unable to search for it and find the answer quickly.

In order to simplify things for other people searching for this problem resolution who have this
"ARB n/a but required, profile > GL2 requested"
type of output, I'd like to add the final exception lines from the error description above into bug
1357 so it comes up on searches.

Of course I can only do that if efferre79 can test it and confirm it's solved.

Would it be possible for someone to supply a test build of 2.3.3 with the commit from serebit in it for testing? Is there a daily or RC build location I can't find?

I notice that the commit doesn't appear to have been pulled into the main repo yet?

I'm willing to try and do a build of the latest from sgothel\jogl and add that tiny change in, if there's no way to access early builds.

What are your thoughts?
