Someone also mentioned an earlier post having trouble getting Sweet Home 3D architecture software to run.  I tried that package and got a similar error:
Caused by: java.lang.InternalError: XXX0 profile[1]: GL3bc -> profileImpl GL4bc !!! not mapped

but SciLab does start now, where previously (before patching jogl) it would stop.  So the patch seems to improve at least some behavior.
