Great stuff.

I believe each item is worth its own thread to discuss here in this sub-forum
and I love debating each one here.

I may also add another (provoking) one:
  - Investigate having a functional C++ API equivalent to nativewindow, newt and jogl.
    - the nativewindow/newt layer might be already solved
    - the GL profile abstraction might be already solved
    - find which part of JOGL's managed API might be useful

Bottom line, every crazy idea is surely of interest.
